Requirements
- Personal lines P&C insurance experience. Typically 5+ years, in insurance contract and forms development, or in claims where you worked policy language directly. One of those two lanes is essential.
- Policy language interpretation. You can read two contracts and say precisely how the coverage differs.
- Contract drafting, revision and compliance review in an insurance context, rather than commercial or vendor contracting.
- State regulatory environments. Experience preparing filings or responding to regulatory inquiries.
- Quality assurance methodology. Test planning, test case development and defect tracking, including UAT or regression testing on insurance systems.
- Reading system output for discrepancies. Policy issuance and rating results, checked against what was filed.
- Cross-functional partnership. Working with Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims and Technology to get a change all the way out.
- Attention to detail that holds under pace. The core of this work is catching the one inconsistency that everything else passed over.
